Shawn Tesdall Obituary: Shawn Tesdall, age 35, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2013. Shawn was born in Silver Spring, Md., and grew up in Hagerstown. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and obtained his degree in economics from the University of Maryland-College Park. Shawn began his career as a financial analyst and then moved into banking where he became a loan officer. He later transitioned into the mortgage industry where he developed and managed several successful businesses. Shawn was an avid Yankees fan and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Haley Tesdall; his brothers, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Tesdall of Hagerstown, Jonathan (Karen) Tesdall of Ellicott City, Md., and Will (Amanda) Tesdall of Baltimore; and sister, Rachael (Brian) McClure of Centreville, Md. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 8th at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hagerstown. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or

Shawn Tesdall Obituary: Shawn Tesdall, 31, of Garland passed away on July 22nd after a long battle with cancer. Shawn was born and raised in Garland, and was an active member of the community. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing video games, watching sports, and fishing. In his free time, he enjoyed learning new things and exploring the world around him. Shawn will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Shawn Tesdall Obituary: Shawn Tesdall, a well-known and respected photographer and filmmaker in the world of digital imaging, passed away on July 16th at the age of 47. Shawn was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, and attended Washburn University where he studied film. After graduating he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography. Shawn worked as a freelance photographer for many years before founding his own successful photography business. Shawn’s love of film led him to move into filmmaking, and he produced several award-winning films over the course of his career. His most famous work is the documentary “The Last Movie Maker”, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2006. Shawn was also a passionate advocate for photojournalism, and served on the board of directors for the National Press Photographers Association for many years. In recent years, Shawn had been working on a new film project called “The Great American Landscape”. He is survived by his wife, Maryam, and their two young sons.
